NU School of Biotechnology Participates in the 2nd OPPM Work Package Meeting

Members of the NU School of Biotechnology attended the 2nd work package meeting for the Online Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine Program (OPPM). OPPM is a consortium funded by the European education program ERASMUS+ that aims at designing the first MSc program in pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine in Egypt. The consortium includes members from Egypt, Lebanon, and the European Union, such as Nile University, Alexandria University, Fayoum University, Al-Alfi Foundation, Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357, Magdy Yaqoub Heart Foundation, American University in Beirut, Beirut Arab University, Oviedo University, University of Kiel, Democritus University of Thrace, Newcastle University.

 

The meeting took place at Nile University and was led by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Wahid, Professor of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Alexandria University and Principal Investigator of the OPPM project. Panel members discussed the project’s latest work packages and challenges that came along the way. They further set plans for future work packages.

 

The OPPM project was inaugurated in December 2021 and the OPPM diploma and MSc program are expected to launch at the end of 2023.
