NU Biotech Students Participate in COP27

Biotech students from Nile University traveled to Sharm El Sheikh to participate in the COP27 conference that took place from November 06 to November 18, 2022.

The participation of the NU Biotech students in COP27 was inspired by NU's vision and firm belief in fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the goals of the national initiative, Egypt's Vision 2030.  As part of their participation in COP27, NU Biotech students ran the NU wing at COP27 exhibiting the efforts and projects that were undertaken by NU to face climate change, such as plates that are made of recycled biodegradable materials and eco-friendly bricks among many other projects produced by NU alone. The students interacted with scientists and policymakers from all over the world who came to Sharm El Sheikh to discuss how to face the global challenge of climate change.

Among the many visitors to the booth was Dr. Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who greatly praised the fruitful efforts undertaken by NU to boost the national economy and combat climate change.

Together with Dr. Ayman Ashour were Dr. Mahmoud Sakr, the president of the Academy for Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Dr. Yasser Refaat, the Deputy Minister for Scientific Research, and Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Advisor to the Deputy Minister for Cooperation.
