Understanding Psychiatric Disorders with Computational Neuroscience

UB1, Room 127, Nile University
We are pleased to invite you to an engaging seminar hosted by Nile University’s School of Biotechnology, featuring Dr. Mohamed Sherif, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University, USA. Dr. Sherif will be discussing how computational neuroscience can help us better understand psychiatric disorders, with a focus on depression.

In this seminar, you will gain insights into how computer models of brain regions are used to unravel the complexity of the brain and develop more effective treatment approaches for mental health disorders. Dr. Sherif will focus on how these models are applied to depression, a condition deeply linked to changes in brain dynamics.

Participants will gain a greater appreciation for how computational tools can enhance our understanding of the brain’s inner workings and open doors for more effective, personalized treatments.
