Computational Biology Career Development Workshop by Dr. Omar Salem

The School of Biotechnology is thrilled to invite you to a special event featuring Dr. Omar Salem, Senior Computational Immunologist at Roche, Canada. Dr. Salem will be conducting a 2-day Computational Biology Career Development Workshop on July 10-11, 2024, from 10 AM to 3 PM in Room 367.
During this workshop, Dr. Omar will cover:
- The role of computational biology in solving biological problems
- Strategies to break into the computational sciences field
- Techniques used in computational biology
- Insights into transcriptomics at bulk and single-cell levels
Dr. Omar holds a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from McMaster University, a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and Biotechnology from the German University in Cairo, and an M.Sc. in Molecular Biosciences, majoring in Cancer Biology, from Heidelberg University and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). His extensive background and expertise make this workshop an invaluable opportunity for anyone interested in advancing their career in computational biology.
