Marina Akram obtained her B.Sc. degree with honours in Biotechnology from the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University in 2023. During her graduation project, she worked on identifying the biotechnological uses of catfish in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of her main research findings was the identification of anti-microbial properties of catfish mucous presenting it as a promising therapeutic candidate.
Soon after her graduation, Marina joined NU School of Biotechnology as a Teaching Assistant and enrolled at the MSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Program at Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST), with a research focus on stem cell biology.
