Aya Farghaly obtained her BSc in Biotechnology/Bio-Molecular Chemistry from the Faculty of Science at Cairo University. With great passion for research, she worked as a junior researcher at Cairo University Research Park (CURP) after which she worked as a teaching assistant at Biotechnology schools. Aya is now a full-time teaching assistant at the School of Biotechnology with a focus on genetic engineering-related courses. She is further responsible for the school’s laboratory purchases and logistics.
Aya’s research interest is understanding the molecular mechanisms behind X-linked recessive disorders with an ultimate aim of finding novel molecular targets for personalized therapies.
