Program Aim

To equip food industry professionals with knowledge and skills in food safety, food processing, and food safety management.

Program Objectives
By the end of the program, graduates will be able to:

Compare food safety and quality.

Analyze different foodborne hazards.

Identify stages of food flow.

Control foodborne hazards in operations.

Recognize sources of food contamination.

Apply control measures for foodborne hazards.

Understand factors affecting pathogen growth in food.

Implement Good Hygienic Practices (GHPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Understand HACCP principles.

Develop and implement a HACCP-based food safety plan.

Audit food management systems.

Train and supervise food handling staff.

Act as a responsible food safety manager.

III) Graduation project: (2 contact hours )
The graduation project aims to actively engage diploma students in real field challenges, as well as build their competencies to conduct research and develop a review article for dealing with a subject of interest to food professionals in Egypt and worldwide. Student groups will be mentored by one of the professors throughout the project. At the end of the project journey, student groups will present their work for discussion and evaluation.
