Numerical Analysis

The aim of the course is intended to introduce students to those areas of applied mathematics that are most relevant for solving practical problems. A course in elementary calculus is the sole prerequisite. In this course, the students will know the basic definitions of Numerical analysis, methods of finding roots of a nonlinear equation and nonlinear systems of equations. Followed by the understanding of characteristics of large systems of linear equations. Then deploy methods of approximation such as interpolation and least square. The concepts of Numerical differentiation and integration will be discussed in detail with several methods. The last part focuses on the Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). This will cover the types of PDEs, and different ways of approximation solutions in addition to the applications.
