About Program
Bioinformatics is a new, rapidly growing science that applies computer technology to acquire, store, analyze, and disseminate biological and clinical data. Bioinformatics integrates various areas of study, including computer sciences, molecular biology, biotechnology, and mathematics.
Mission
Bioinformatics aims to train scholars to work at the intersection of biology and computer science/statistics. We teach students to organize enormous sets of genomic and clinical data efficiently.
Skills & Career Path
The set of skills that Bioinformatics students will acquire is the following:
- The ability to retrieve, manipulate and analyze biological data.
- Next-generation sequencing (NGS) biological data analysis.
- Mechanistic and modular approaches, mathematical modeling, and graph classifying techniques for biological networks.
- The most recent techniques used in computer-aided drug design.
