NU School of Biotechnology Participates in the OPPM Dissemination Event

The School of Biotechnology participated in the dissemination event for the Online Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine Program (OPPM), which is a consortium funded by ERASMUS+ that aims to create a postgraduate diploma and MSc program in pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine. This is the first postgraduate program in pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine in Egypt and one of the pioneering programs in the Middle East.

The consortium is led by Alexandria University and includes universities and organizations from Egypt, Lebanon, and the European Union, such as Nile University, Fayoum University, Al-Alfi Foundation, The Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357, American University in Beirut, Beirut Arab University, Oviedo University, University of Kiel, Democritus University of Thrace, Newcastle University. The consortium also includes an honorary member, the Magdy Yaqoub Heart Foundation.

At the dissemination event, discussions were held on the current achievements and future plans of the OPPM program. The NU School of Biotechnology gave a talk at the event on its contributions and achievements in the OPPM program as well as its future plans.

The OPPM project was inaugurated in December 2021 and the OPPM diploma and MSc program are expected to launch at the end of 2023.
