Applied Biotechnology Seniors Visit Juhayna Food Factories

The School of Biotechnology continuously supports professional and practical learning strategies based on field trips for its students to learn about the latest field technologies and explore new market opportunities.

As part of the learning activities undertaken in the course of Industrial Microbiology, our senior students went on a field trip to two of Juhayna Food Factories to explore the latest technologies of fermentation, fermented foods and quality control.

The students witnessed the advanced equipment of the factories, sequential steps of product manufacturing, methods of sanitation and sterilisation, product filling and packaging, process control unit, quality control measures, and food safety precautions.

Additionally, the students visited the laboratory and got trained on sample collection, preparation, and examination to ensure safety and quality of the final food product.
